Strategic Advisor, RegScale
A proven security leader
Cloutier comes to RegScale with an impressive track record of security expertise, having served most recently as the Global Chief Security Officer for ByteDance/TikTok. In that role, he oversaw a wide range of enterprise security, privacy, and risk operations worldwide.
Before his time at TikTok, Cloutier served as the Global CSO and Corporate VP for ADP, a global payroll and HR technology provider. With over 25 years of security experience, he has held roles in the US Air Force, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Cloutier’s accolades include being named to the IDG CSO Hall of Fame, the CISO 100 list, and Security Magazine’s list of the Most Influential People in Security. He’s also been awarded the ExecRank #1 Security Executive of the Year and received numerous industry leadership awards from the EW, ISE, and Security Alliance Network. We’re thrilled to have an advisor of this caliber offering his guidance to the RegScale team.
Unlocking the next chapter of growth
In his role as a strategic advisor, Cloutier will provide expert insights to help guide RegScale’s product roadmap, strategic direction, and go-to-market planning. His deep understanding of enterprise security challenges and experience in transforming global organizations will be instrumental as RegScale continues to expand its offerings and solidify its position as a leader in the GRC space.
Cloutier’s network within the security industry will also help inform and support how RegScale reaches into new markets and verticals. As a respected thought leader, Cloutier will further validate RegScale’s unique value proposition and strengthen its position as a trusted partner for enterprises.
Continuing RegScale’s momentum
RegScale has established itself as a leader in GRC, with major momentum propelling us this year.
- We’ve received the SC Media Award for Best Compliance Solution, the CyberSecurity Breakthrough Award for Compliance Software Solution Provider of the Year, and the NVTC Cyber50 Award.
- We’ve formed industry-first partnerships, including as the only CCM solution in the prestigious Microsoft Pegasus Program and as the first CCM partner to form a strategic alliance with Unified Compliance Framework (UCF).
- We were recognized as a Sample Vendor in four different Gartner® Hype Cycle™ reports this year for the DevOps and Cybersecurity Continuous Compliance Automation categories. We were also mentioned in two 2024 Gartner® Market Guides, for DevOps Continuous Compliance Automation Tools and for Regulatory Intelligence Solutions.
- We achieved a FedRAMP High In Process designation three times faster than the industry average, and at half the cost — setting new industry records.
- We also achieved SOC 2 Type II Certification through our CCM platform, reducing preparation time by 94%, and we earned the Cloud Security Alliance’s (CSA) STAR Level 1 certification.
It’s been a year of major successes, and Cloutier has noted that RegScale is well poised to continue this streak of impressive growth: its platform is built to handle enterprise-scale complexities, with advanced automation and AI features that set it apart from traditional GRC solutions.
Beyond that, our focus on delivering operational excellence and mission success (rather than just compliance) is a key differentiator. Our technical capabilities and ability to scale mean that we can accommodate the challenges faced by major enterprise customers and effectively remove complexity from their GRC processes.
“Having worked with many major corporations, I’ve seen firsthand how few platforms can truly handle enterprise-scale risk and compliance complexities,” Cloutier said. “RegScale’s ability to automatically gather data, provide actionable insights, and scale to Fortune 500 requirements sets it apart and motivated me to come on board as a strategic advisor. Plainly put, the company is delivering innovations that no other GRC solutions can match.”
Cloutier’s deep understanding of the security challenges faced by large organizations will inform how he guides our strategic direction and product development. With his insights, RegScale will be able to continue its track record of stellar growth and innovation.
The future of GRC is bright
As organizations navigate an increasingly complex regulatory and technological landscape, the need for innovative GRC solutions has never been greater. With the addition of Roland Cloutier to our team, we’re poised to redefine the industry and deliver unparalleled value to our customers.
We know there are big challenges ahead. Increasing global instability, a surge in AI-enabled cybersecurity threats, a constantly evolving regulatory environment, and the rapid rate of technological change (Moore’s Law, anyone?) all present major obstacles to the kind of streamlined, efficient GRC solutions that are desperately needed.
But as we look ahead to 2030, we also see vast potential for innovation in the industry. A smart, agile approach is going to be crucial for organizations to remain compliant and secure. With Cloutier’s support and guidance, RegScale is ready to lead the charge into that promising future.
