RegScale Wins the SC Media Excellence Award for Best Compliance Solution

September 16, 2024 | By Gabrielle Hovendon

Move fast, improve things.

It’s RegScale’s approach to compliance and risk management — and it’s one reason why we’ve won the SC Media Excellence Award for Best Compliance Solution at the SC Awards 2024.

Entering their 27th year, the SC Awards are highly regarded for celebrating the groundbreaking organizations, people, and solutions that are advancing the cybersecurity industry. This was RegScale’s second year being named a finalist in SC Media’s best compliance solution category and our first year winning.

Being selected for the Excellence Award is about more than just recognition for RegScale and our Continuous Controls Monitoring (CCM) platform. It highlights the real and present challenges in compliance today, and it emphasizes the growing need to safeguard the digital landscape for tomorrow.

“We’re very pleased to be recognized by SC Media for having the Best Compliance Solution,” said Travis Howerton, Co-Founder and CEO of RegScale. “With an ever-evolving regulatory environment and a rapidly changing cloud landscape, companies need continuous monitoring solutions more than ever. This award highlights how the industry is moving away from manual, reactive approaches and embracing automated, dynamic options like RegScale to lead the way to 2030 and beyond.”

How RegScale is leading the way in CCM

Reimagining GRC as CCM

RegScale isn’t just moving the risk and compliance sector forward; it’s reinventing GRC altogether.
Traditional governance, risk, and compliance — characterized by a manual, reactive approach and slow, expensive processes — struggles to keep pace with the dynamic nature of the sector. Continuous controls monitoring (CCM), on the other hand, offers a proactive and efficient approach to compliance.

By leveraging features like extreme automation, AI, and real-time monitoring, our cloud-native CCM platform not only addresses GRC shortcomings but also helps organizations stay ahead of regulatory shifts without the heavy costs of legacy GRC. RegScale’s approach offers both speed and cost reduction, automating the collecting and reporting of compliance data and reducing audit prep time by up to 60%.

With an ever-evolving regulatory environment and a rapidly changing cloud landscape, companies need continuous monitoring solutions more than ever. This award highlights how the industry is moving away from manual, reactive approaches and embracing automated, dynamic options like RegScale to lead the way to 2030 and beyond.

Industry-first partnerships

RegScale is partnering with leading organizations to advance cloud security and compliance. In March, we became the only CCM solution selected for the distinguished Microsoft Pegasus Program, which recognizes startups with innovative cloud solutions.

In August, we announced our strategic alliance with Unified Compliance Framework (UCF) as their first CCM partner. The partnership combines UCF’s comprehensive regulatory library with RegScale’s AI-powered engine (RegML) to provide a fast, automated approach to compliance. It also offers access to over 1,000 global compliance and regulatory frameworks, allowing organizations to proactively manage their compliance programs with less risk and less hassle.

Ultimately, these partnerships and our participation in the industry have made us a stronger company, one that’s better positioned to address our customers’ complex needs.

External recognition

RegScale has been recognized as a Sample Vendor in four different Gartner® Hype Cycle™ reports this year for the DevOps and Cybersecurity Continuous Compliance Automation categories. In our view, the reports highlight how RegScale is not just helping companies stay compliant with the latest regulations but also enabling more agile DevOps and strengthening cybersecurity for organizations.

Speed-running our own FedRAMP timeline

As a startup, we put our money where our mouth is. Using our own CCM platform, we achieved a FedRAMP High “In Process” designation three times faster than the average 18-to 36-month process, and at half the cost.

We’ve also achieved SOC 2 Type II Certification through our CCM platform, reducing preparation time by 94%. And we’ve earned the Cloud Security Alliance’s (CSA) STAR Level 1 certification, meaning that we’ve publicly documented our compliance with CSA’s Cloud Controls Matrix (CCM) and joined their registry.

We’re proud of our certifications — especially because they highlight our platform’s success at streamlining and automating the compliance process. (For comparison, it’s not unusual for cloud service providers to take around three years and $2 million to achieve the same FedRAMP designation.) By automating workflows, breaking down data siloes, and reducing program times, we’ve been able to successfully lower costs and future-proof security postures.

Looking ahead to the future of compliance

We’re grateful to SC Media for honoring us with the SC Excellence Award and for showcasing the importance of risk and compliance in our digital world. We’d also like to congratulate the winners in the other categories, as well as the Best Compliance Solution finalists. Together, our organizations are making the digital landscape a safer, more secure environment.

As we look ahead to 2030, we see a vast need for robust cybersecurity and innovation in our constantly shifting regulatory environment. A smart, agile approach is going to be crucial for organizations to remain compliant and secure.

Where do we go from here? RegScale will remain focused on serving our customers with innovative solutions that enhance security with less cost and less time. We’re proud to be leading the way in compliance and risk management, and we look forward to seeing how the industry continues to grow and evolve.
